REV DR. DAVID CLARK
will share with us a fascinating insight into this much respected man
Helmut Rex (born Rehbein) 1913-1967 was trained in the Confessing Church in Nazi Germany, left Germany because of his wife’s Jewish extraction, and his own arrest by the Nazis, and came to New Zealand in 1939 sponsored by the Presbyterian Church. He was appointed to teach at Knox Theological College and gained a reputation for startling and confrontational insight, a bi-product of his sharp intellect and attention to the emerging philosophy of existentialism.
